Amphibian Road Crossing Sites

Find the Crossing Nearest You

The Harris Center currently coordinates amphibian crossing efforts (yellow salamanders on the map) in Henniker, Keene, Nelson, Peterborough, Swanzey, Westmoreland, Wilton, and Winchester, NH. There are also many other crossing sites (green frogs) that are either further afield; monitored by individuals, families, or other grassroots groups; and/or in need of additional investigation.

Open our interactive map for more information on specific sites, or scroll down for downloadable maps, directions, parking information, and other details for each of our well-established crossings.

Note: In order to help people find sites that are as close to home as possible and in hopes of helping volunteers in other parts of the state connect with one another, this map includes crossing sites that have been reported to us from throughout New Hampshire. However, the Harris Center only actively coordinates volunteer efforts in the greater Monadnock Region. In addition, this is not an exhaustive list of every amphibian crossing in New Hampshire; these are simply the sites that have been reported to us! If you know of an amphibian road crossing hotspot that should be added to this map, please report it via this online form.
