David is senior faculty in the Education Department and Director of the Center for Place-based Education at Antioch University New England. He was one of the founders of the Harrisville Children’s Center, and has served on the boards of both public and private schools. He holds a B.A. from Williams College and an M.Ed. from Antioch University New England.
He is the author of Children’s Special Places, Place-based Education: Connecting Classrooms and Communities, Childhood and Nature: Design Principles for Educators, Wild Play: Parenting Adventures in the Great Outdoors, and many other books and articles examining the relationship between child development, authentic curriculum, and environmental education.
