Ilissa Sargent (she/her) was born and raised in northern Illinois, but relocated to southern New Hampshire with her husband and two children to spend more time exploring nature, hiking, gardening, and adventuring.
Ilissa has always had a passion for the natural sciences, with an eye specifically on botany, ecology, and environmental education. After several years in public service, she decided to pursue this passion more deeply and obtained dual degrees in Environmental Science and Anthropology with a concentration on conservation and natural resource management. She loves interacting with the community to promote more sustainable habits and is actively involved with the Native Plant Trust as a Plant Conservation Volunteer.
She hopes the hands-on experience she gains as a conservation easement monitoring intern with the Harris Center’s land protection and stewardship program will help her continue her professional and academic path in conservation and public outreach.
