Volunteer Coordinator

Volunteer Coordinator Mary Verrilli (photo © Miles Stahmann)Mary (she/her) grew up in Connecticut playing in the woods, catching fireflies and tadpoles, and building forts with her brothers and neighbor kids. This sparked her interest in the outdoors, where her curiosity continued to grow. She graduated from Keene State College, studied abroad in New Zealand, worked in the Mojave Desert protecting tortoise habitat, and lived in her tent for five months in Alaska doing restoration work all over the state.

She recently returned to the Monadnock Region after living in Oregon for the past 17 years, where she coordinated a volunteer stewardship program for Portland Parks & Recreation, removing lots of non-native plants. She is excited to continue to work with volunteers at the Harris Center.

Mary has been rediscovering the natural areas in the Monadnock Region with her family and friends, and loves moving at the pace of her 4-year old, as there is a lot to stop and see. She loves music, dancing, and spending time outside.
