Birding in Surry
Saturday, January 10, 2026,
8:00 am to 11:00 am
- This event has passed.

Join Harris Center ecologist Nate Marchessault and the Monadnock Bird and Nature Club (MBNC) for a morning of birding in Surry. Based on weather conditions and recent sightings, we’ll visit either the gravel pits or Surry Mountain Lake, both extremely productive winter birding locations. Our route will span 3 miles or less on mostly flat ground. Bring binoculars, dress for the weather, and come prepared for winter conditions. Beginning birders welcome!
Meet at 8 a.m. at the Beth-El Bible Church parking area in Surry. Back by 11 a.m. No registration required. This outing is part of MBNC’s “Second Saturdays in Surry” series.
For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. To borrow binoculars or for more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Nate.
Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Monadnock Bird and Nature Club.
