Join Harris Center bird conservation director Phil Brown and avid hiker Joe MacGregor of the Bennington Conservation Commission for a winter wander through the Bruce Edes Memorial Forest. This riverside gem features two miles of trails that follow the river and old railroad, winding through tall pine and hemlock forests — perfect for winter wildlife tracking. We’ll explore one to two miles of mostly level terrain with a few gentle climbs. Dress for the weather, and come prepared for winter conditions with spikes or snowshoes (or borrow some from us).

10 a.m. to noon at the Bruce Edes Memorial Forest in Bennington. Space is limited, and registration is required. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Phil.

Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Bennington Conservation Commission.
