Environmental Studies Institute: Seeing the Forest for the Trees
Thursday, August 26,
10:00 am to 11:00 am
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Thursday, repeating until Thursday, September 2, 2021
Join Susie Spikol and Jeremy Wilson for an analytical look at forests and trees as social beings. During the first class, we’ll explore Peter Wohlleben’s provocative book, The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate — Discoveries from a Secret World, discussing the context in which it was written, Wohlleben’s biography, and our own responses to the text. In the second class, forest ecologist Jeremy Wilson will examine the science and theories around Wohlleben’s work. A course for those of you who want to see the forest and the trees, and understand how they work together.
This class will meet on Thursdays, August 26 and September 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. via Zoom. Closed captioning will be available.
Cost: $20 for Harris Center supporters / $30 for all others
