Join Harris Center teacher-naturalists Jenna Spear, and Jaime Hutchinson for this fun and energizing professional development workshop for teachers of grades 3–8. This hands-on workshop will explore best practices for facilitating student-led inquiry and research in the schoolyard.

Together, we’ll walk through the process of exploring a schoolyard, raising questions about what we see, and identifying which of those questions can be answered through focused, firsthand observations. Then we’ll review activities for selecting a question, creating an investigation plan, and gathering and organizing data to share with others. Join us for this wintry exploration of nearby nature!

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harris Center. Cost: $120. Space is limited to 20 participants, and registration is required by January 23. For questions about the event, including accessibility, please contact Jenna Spear. You can learn more about our professional development program for educators on our website.
