A stone wall in fall (photo © Brett Amy Thelen)

Join Harris Center ecologist Brett Amy Thelen and John Kondos of Friends of Pisgah for a 3.5-mile loop hike around scenic Kilburn Pond, with excellent views of woods and water. Along the way, we’ll stop to explore stone walls, rock outcroppings, a 1930s-era dam, and whatever else the autumn woods have to offer.

Bring water and a snack to enjoy from one of many pond-side vistas, and come prepared for some rooty, rocky sections of trail and approximately 250 feet of elevation gain.

Meet at 1 p.m. at the Kilburn Road trailhead for Pisgah State Park, off Route 63 in Hinsdale. Back by 4 p.m. Space is limited, and registration is required. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Brett.

Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and Friends of Pisgah.
