Kestrels Young Birders Club: Kestrel & Bobolink Adventure
Sunday, June 22,
8:00 am to 10:00 am

Are you a tween or a teenager with an interest in birds and birding? Join a growing movement of young adults who are honing their wildlife observation skills, learning to recognize birds and their calls, and spending time outside building community with other young birders in the Kestrels Young Birders Club.
Join Harris Center Bird Conservation Director Phil Brown and naturalist Susie Spikol on a special outing to a field where American Kestrels, Bobolinks, and other grassland birds breed. June is the peak month for activity, and with some luck, the resident kestrel pair will have returned to raise their young. If so, we may be in for a special treat!
Either way, we’ll be surrounded by the abundant song of Bobolinks, and we’ll learn about helpful ways to protect grassland birds. Bring binoculars (or borrow some from us), and come prepared for sun and biting insects.
8 to 10 a.m. in Jaffrey. Space is limited, and registration is required. Directions to the exact meeting location will be provided prior to the event. For teens and tweens. Free of charge. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Susie.
