Join former Monadnock State Park Manager Ben Haubrich, hiking enthusiast Trish Harper, and naturalist Susie Spikol for an all-day hike up Mount Monadnock. Our challenging, 5+ mile route with a 1500-foot vertical gain will take us up the White Dot Trail, then the Cascade Trail, and finally the Spellman Trail, which is the steepest section of trail on the mountain.

Along the way, we’ll share stories and discuss the history of Grand Monadnock, scan the skies for migrating raptors, take in the views, and search for signs of the changing season. We don’t plan to summit, but will instead enjoy views from lower ridges and promontories. This hike is only recommended for experienced hikers who are comfortable with steep, rocky, rugged terrain.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or later) in Jaffrey. Exact meeting location will be provided prior to the event. The Harris Center will reserve parking for all participants. Space is limited, and registration is required.
