Shorebirds are extraordinary for many reasons, not least of which are the marathon migrations they undertake each year. As a species group, they’re also experiencing potentially catastrophic declines. Thankfully, there is much being done to reverse this trend. Join Scott Hecker, Director of Bird Conservation for the International Conservation Fund of Canada (ICFC), for a talk about the work ICFC supports in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia to protect Piping Plovers, Red Knots, Spoon-billed Sandpipers and more on their wintering grounds in the southern hemisphere.

7 to 8 p.m. at the Hancock Town Library. For more information, please contact Susie Spikol Faber at (603) 525-3394 or by email.

Cosponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Hancock Town Library.
