Join avid hiker Miki Clements and Robert Larochelle of the Mason Conservation Commission for a 3-mile hike on the trails surrounding the Mason Quarry. Along the way, we’ll visit a memorial honoring workers who died during the construction of the railroad, explore the quarry and the remains of an impressive house and barn foundation, and hear the saga of Wolf Rock. This moderate 3-mile loop includes several connecting trails with gradual elevation changes. Bring lunch, dress for the weather, and come prepared for winter conditions with spikes or snowshoes as needed.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Mason. Exact meeting location will be provided prior to the event. Space is limited, and registration is full. To add your name to the waitlist, contact Miles Stahmann. For more information about this event, including questions about accessibility, contact Miki.
Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Mason Conservation Commission.
