Join ecologists Brett Amy Thelen and Karen Seaver for an afternoon of salamander monitoring at the Harris Center’s long-term study plots — part of SPARCnet, a national research effort aimed at understanding the effects of climate change on red-backed salamanders. We’ll start with a brief introduction to red-backed salamander ecology and to our study methods, then head into the woods to survey for salamanders. No experience necessary!

4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Harris Center. Space is limited, and registration is required. For general information about Harris Center field trips, including questions about accessibility, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, please contact Brett.
