Join Harris Center teacher-naturalists Jenna Spear, and Jaime Hutchinson for an exploration of one of our most fascinating long-distance migrants: the Broad-winged Hawk!

Designed for teachers of grades 3 through high school, this engaging professional development workshop will delve into the wonders of raptor migration. Discover hands-on lessons that connect to NGSS standards while incorporating topography, mapping, geography, weather, math, writing, and more. The day will also include a field trip to the Pack Monadnock Raptor Observatory at Miller State Park in Peterborough, where we’ll witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of hawks in flight. This workshop is being offered at a reduced rate thanks to grant funding.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harris Center. Cost: $75. Space is limited to 20 attendees, and registration is required by October 3. For questions about the event, including accessibility, please contact Jenna Spear. You can learn more about our professional development program for educators on our website.
