A New Gathering Space
Set among extensive gardens, pastures, and woods, the Eleanor Briggs Open Lodge is now hosting events large and small on the beautiful grounds of the Harris Center.
This gorgeous open-air building can accommodate large groups and is designed to support a wide range of programs and gatherings.
The Open Lodge also features new pathways, an expanded deck, and thoughtfully designed hardscaping, making it easier for visitors using walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers to access, navigate, and enjoy the Harris Center’s scenic grounds.
Accessibility & Other Details
There are three accessible parking spaces directly behind the Lodge. Parking for all others is located a short walk away on the other side of the Harris Center’s main building.
Two unisex restrooms — one of which is fully accessible — with composting toilets for hikers and visitors are located behind the Lodge.
A projection screen and full audio system make the space perfect for lectures, summer camps, musical and theatrical performances, weddings, memorial services, and other community events.

The Open Lodge was dedicated in July of 2026.
