SUMMARY:The Harris Center’s Rock Hound Club for Families at the Beneski Museum
DESCRIPTION:Contact Audrey at (603) 525-3394 or by email to join the waitlist. \nCalling all rock hounds! Join naturalists Susie Spikol and Julie Brown for a different rockin’ outing each month from August through November. We’ll explore rock and mineral collections\, visit geological sites\, and connect with geologists\, all while keeping our eye out for special stones\, fossils\, and more. \nOther outings will include a visit to the Harris Center in Hancock on August 4\, a visit to Beryl Mountain on September 10\, and an exploration of Gilsum’s mine history on October 7. Come rock out with us! \nThis is a club for families with elementary-aged children and up to attend together. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all meetings. \n10 a.m. to noon at the Beneski Museum of Natural History at Amherst College. Space is limited\, and registration is full. \nFor general information about Harris Center field trips\, see our Outings Information page. For questions about this particular outing\, including questions about accessibility\, contact Susie.
