SUMMARY:The Harris Center's Rock Hound Club for Families in Gilsum
DESCRIPTION:Contact Audrey at (603) 525-3394 or by email to join the waitlist. \nCalling all rock hounds! Join naturalists Susie Spikol and Julie Brown for a different rockin’ outing each month from August through November. We’ll explore rock and mineral collections\, visit geological sites\, and connect with geologists\, all while keeping our eye out for special stones\, fossils\, and more. During this outing\, we’ll explore the intriguing history of Gilsum’s mines. \nOther outings will include a visit to the Harris Center in Hancock on August 4\, a visit to Beryl Mountain on September 10\, and a field trip to the Beneski Museum at Amherst College on November 4. Come rock out with us! \nThis is a club for families with elementary-aged children and up to attend together. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all meetings. \n10 a.m. to noon in Gilsum.
