DESCRIPTION:Are you a tween or a teen with an interest in birds and birding? Join a growing movement of young adults who are learning to recognize birds and their calls while building community with other young birders. Join Bird Conservation Director Phil Brown\, naturalist Susie Spikol\, and a woodshop expert from the MAXT Makerspace in Peterborough for a bluebird nest-box building workshop. For students in grades 5 through 12. Free of charge. \n10 a.m. to noon at the MAXT Makerspace in Peterborough. Directions to the exact meeting location will be provided prior to the event. SUMMARY:Afterschool Program: Building for Wildlife
DESCRIPTION:Join MAXT Makerspace and the Harris Center for this collaborative season of Junior Creatives\, where you’ll learn about local wildlife and find out what you can create to help them thrive! Each session will be co-led by expert Harris Center naturalists and will include examples such as mounted specimens\, animal evidence\, and tips for attracting wildlife to your project. Then we’ll dive into creating feeders\, nest boxes\, and more\, in the Makerspace woodshop. \nThis class is for middle schoolers in grades 5 through 8. Enrollment is $50 per student. \n4 to 5:30 p.m. at MAXT Makerspace in Peterborough. This group meets Mondays\, October 27\, November 3\, 17 & 24\, and December 1 & 8.
