SUMMARY:Birding for All: Hawk Watch at Pack Monadnock
DESCRIPTION:Contact Miles at (603) 525-3394 or by email to join the waitlist. \nJoin Phil Brown\, Susie Spikol\, and others to tally migratory raptors and other birds from the Pack Monadnock Raptor Observatory during peak migration season. There’s no better time or place to enjoy the migration spectacle in New Hampshire than here\, where thousands of raptors fly past the summit of Pack Monadnock during a brief window in September. Other fall migrants may include warblers\, sparrows\, and waterbirds. \nBirding for All outings are designed for people of all abilities\, including those who experience accessibility challenges as a result of a disability or other health concern. Bring water and binoculars (or borrow a pair from us)\, and dress for the weather\, including windier summit conditions. Beginning birders and all ages are welcome! \n10 a.m. to noon at the Pack Monadnock Raptor Observatory at Miller State Park in Peterborough. \nThe program is free of charge\, but there is a small entrance fee for visiting Pack Monadnock\, and park reservations are required. For more information on park fees and reservations\, visit the Miller State Park website. For general information about Harris Center field trips\, see our Outings Information page. For other information about this particular outing\, contact Phil.

SUMMARY:Birding for All: World Migratory Bird Day Big Sit at Pack Monadnock
DESCRIPTION:Join Harris Center raptor biologists Levi Burford and Katrina Fenton as we tally all bird species observed during a single day from a single location: the Pack Monadnock Raptor Observatory in Peterborough. This global “Big Day” of birding both celebrates and highlights the needs of migratory birds\, and there’s no better place to enjoy the spectacle locally than at the Observatory. \nPast Big Sits at Pack have yielded a dozen or so raptor species\, as well as other fall migrants including warblers\, sparrows\, and waterfowl. Bring water\, snacks\, and binoculars (or borrow a pair from us)\, dress in layers\, and be prepared for summit conditions. Birding for All outings are designed for people of all abilities\, including those who experience accessibility challenges as a result of a disability or other health concern. Beginning birders and all ages welcome! \n10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Raptor Observatory atop Pack Monadnock in Miller State Park in Peterborough. Come anytime during that window to be part of the tally. Registration is requested. State park reservations and a small fee are required for visiting Pack Monadnock. \nFor more information on park fees and reservations\, visit the Miller State Park website; general information about visiting the Observatory can be found on our Visiting the Hawk Watch page. For more information on this outing\, contact Phil Brown.
