Outdoor Adventures for Curious Kids
Harris Center camps — both summer and winter — are rooted in exploration of the natural world.
Winter Camp
Bring your sense of curiosity as we search for wildlife tracks, make ice art, play games in the snow, and explore our favorite trails, giant boulders, and secret dens. In 2025, this three-day Winter Camp for kids in Grades K through 4 will be from Monday, February 24 to Wednesday, February 26 at the Harris Center. Registration opens on January 3.
Wilderness Survival Skills for Middle Schoolers
Join Harris Center teacher-naturalist John Benjamin for two days of learning essential winter survival skills, from fire building and water gathering to preparing for winter hikes and simple first aid. This camp is geared toward beginner survivalists. Come prepared for outdoor fun, and we’ll teach you the rest! For ages 10 to 14. Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harris Center. Registration opens on January 3.
Summer Adventures
For more than 40 years, fields, forests, ponds, and mountains have served as the backdrop for the Harris Center’s summer programs, which offer outdoor explorations for kids in pre-school through middle school. Harris Center summer campers hike, play, climb, canoe, camp, paint, build, sing, and learn alongside skilled naturalists. Scholarships are available. In 2024, our summer camps will take place during the last week of June and the second and third weeks of July.
