A Day of Learning for Nature Lovers on November 15
The Monadnock Region Natural History Conference is a one-day gathering for nature lovers, with a focus on local conservation research, land management, and environmental education. We welcome scientists, land managers, educators, students, backyard naturalists, and anyone with an interest in nearby nature!
This year’s conference will take place on November 15, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Keene State College. The schedule will feature 22 short talks, 9 poster presentations, a keynote by cartoonist and author Rosemary Mosco (see below), tabling by more than 20 organizations, and two optional field trips.
Keynote: Cartoons for Conservation
Join cartoonist, naturalist, and author Rosemary Mosco to explore the funny side of nature and discover why comics and science are natural allies. Rosemary will share how she built a career that blends art and science, and tell a few funny stories from the creation of her new book, The Birding Dictionary — a tongue-in-cheek guide for people who find themselves obsessed, against all logic and reason, with birds.
