Make Conservation Part of Your Legacy

"Bobcats Forever" Legacy Society logoThe Bobcats Forever Legacy Society is a group of supporters who have ensured that land protection, education, and conservation research will be part of their legacy by naming the Harris Center as a future beneficiary of an estate, trust, or other gift.

Naming the Harris Center as a future beneficiary can be this simple:

  • Remember the Harris Center in your will.
  • Attach a rider to a life insurance policy.
  • Add an addendum to an individual retirement account.
  • Set up a trust to provide you with income during your lifetime.

This is an example of typical bequest language added to a will:

I bequeath $ _ or % _ of my estate to the Harris Center for Conservation Education, a nonprofit organization at 83 King’s Highway, Hancock, NH.

If you have already named the Harris Center in your will or other estate plan, please let us know so we can properly thank you. If you have not already made charitable plans and would like to discuss your options, we would be happy to provide you and your financial advisors with any information that might assist you with your decisions.

“I have a small IRA, and the Harris Center is the beneficiary of all of it. It’s just an easy thing to do.”
Hunt Dowse, Hancock, NH

“We should concentrate on things close at hand that need our help, and the Harris Center is near and dear to our hearts.”
Sara Dowse, Hancock, NH

We all benefit from the Harris Center working its land conservation wonders in the region. We also take better care of what we know, and the Harris Center helps all ages understand and connect with the natural world. I did a simple attachment to my will. So easy.”
— Francie Von Mertens, Peterborough, NH

We are tremendously fortunate to live in a place that is wild and beautiful, and has the Harris Center to help keep it that way. Leaving a bequest gives me peace of mind that I’m helping the Harris Center carry on in its critical work of teaching our children to understand and care for the natural world.”
Marcia Kayser, Keene, NH
