Tom Burgess

Peterborough

Tom got his start in Flushing, NY, where he was lucky enough to live across the street from Kissena Park. The Park — and bird-watching trips with his Uncle Al — gave him a permanent appreciation and love of nature.

For 35 years, Tom taught high school social studies. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from LeMoyne College and a master’s degree in history from City College. For 30 years he lived in Wilton, CT, where he served on the board of the local land trust and on the town’s Inland Wetlands Commission.

Tom currently serves on the ConVal School Board and is the chair of the Peterborough Democrats. He and his wife Jackie love the beauty of the Monadnock Region. His hobbies include birdwatching, reading, and traveling.
