Wild Scientist Book Club — Owling: Enter the World of the Mysterious Birds of the Night
Thursday, December 17, 2026,
4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Go wild with science, reading, and doing in this nature and science book club led by naturalists Susie Spikol and Jaime Hutchinson! Each session will include a short discussion, followed by hands-on science and nature observation to bring the book to life. Read the books, then come ready to actively explore the science behind each read! Books are available to borrow from the Hancock Town Library. For children ages 8 to 10.
In December, we’ll read Owling: Enter the World of the Mysterious Birds of the Night by Mark Wilson. This session will also include a visit with the author, Mark Wilson, plus a few other special guests. You’ll never guess whooooo!
4 to 5 p.m. at the Hancock Town Library. Space is limited, and registration is required. For more information, including questions about accessibility, contact Susie.
Be sure to check out these other Wild Scientist Book Club events: Who Was Jane Goodall? on October 15 and The Superpower Field Guide: Beavers on November 19.
Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education, the Hancock Town Library, and Eyes on Owls.
