Denise Zimmer standing in front of fall foliage.Denise (she/her) grew up and began her career in the Midwest, where she completed her MBA at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She’s approaching her 15th year working for Indiana Knitwear, an apparel manufacturer. Five of those years were spent in Guatemala, on-boarding customers as well as working in development and special projects. Now she works remotely — from Peterborough, where outdoor adventures can be found every day — on the executive team, primarily focused on costing and strategic planning.

Her real passion is building community and creating access to lifelong learning. Denise enjoys being outdoors in every season, including year-round hiking, all types of skiing, trail running, camping, biking with her family, and exploring new places.

She lives in Peterborough with her husband Brian and two children, Stella and Juniper. In the summer of 2020, she and the girls began their challenge of hiking all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000-foot mountains. In addition to serving on the Harris Center Board, Denise is President of the Peterborough Elementary School PTO and Corporator for the 1833 Society of the Peterborough Town Library. She also volunteers for End 68 Hours of Hunger and the Peterborough Welcome Team.
