Michael George smiles on a snowy day in the mountains.Michael (he/him) grew up in North Carolina, but has lived in New England most of his adult life. He and his wife Cathy first came to the Monadnock Region in the mid-1980s when Cathy served as a summer chaplain in Dublin. They became familiar with the Harris Center through the Wol’s Nest summer camp, which both of their children attended for several years. In the mid-1990s, they purchased a 186-acre farm in Jaffrey and have been here ever since.

Michael recently sold his medical equipment business, but still manages commercial real estate property and a company named Gartenart that builds natural pools and constructs wetlands. He serves on the Jaffrey Conservation Commission and manages their family property, which is a registered Tree Farm. In addition, he travels back and forth between Jaffrey and New Haven, CT, where Cathy teaches at Yale Divinity School. He also enjoys road and mountain biking, writing, and photography.
