Easement Monitoring intern Jens Peterson (photo © Jens Peterson)Jens Peterson (he/him) grew up exploring a research forest in Vermont’s Green Mountains, where he developed a love of wildlife at a young age. He holds a BS in Data Science and an MS in Environmental Science & Policy, both from Clark University in Worcester, MA.

While studying for his Master’s degree, Jens spent much of his time working remotely with the Biodiversity Research Institute in Maine, studying shifts in bird species in the state over the past four decades. He also contributed analytical maps and charts to the Maine Bird Atlas research team.

He is excited to explore the forests and lands of the SuperSancturary as a conservation easement monitor with the Harris Center’s land protection and stewardship program.

In addition to map-making and birdwatching, Jens enjoys cross country skiing, hiking, and traveling.
