Katie Koster

Salamander Crossing Brigades Program Assistant

Katie Koster sports her Harris Center hat....in Antarctica!Katie earned an M.A. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and an M.A. in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire. When she’s not at her family home in New Hampshire, she works as a weather observer in Antarctica. She says, “When contrasted the ice-clad landscape of the southernmost continent, the NH woods feel that much sweeter, as does standing on sun-warmed sidewalks in Keene after sunset, hoping that a pair of state-endangered birds will nest [nearby].”

During her 2017 internship with the Harris Center, Katie monitored Common Nighthawks as part of our Project Nighthawk citizen science program. In 2019, she re-joined us as a seasonal program assistant working on the Salamander Crossing Brigade project.
