Kira grew up in Virginia and graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in Earth Science and a minor in Secondary Education. After an eye-opening summer working with the Youth Conservation Corps, she decided to pursue teaching in a non-formal context. She is now working toward her M.S. in Environmental Education at Antioch University New England. Kira spent the summer of 2017 adventuring in Alaska while working for Denali National Park as a Science Communication intern.
In the fall of 2017, she designed and taught school-based programs as part of her environmental education internship with the Harris Center.
