KSC Conservation Intern

Tate Fairbank stands in the woods holding an animal skull.Tate is currently attending Keene State College, where he is majoring in Environmental Studies.

Born and raised in a small town in New Hampshire, he is passionate about the outdoors and is excited to be working in a field that gives back to the environment. He is almost halfway through hiking all of the 4,000+-foot mountains in the Granite State.

After graduating, Tate hopes to continue working outdoors, and to one day pursue a master’s degree in paleontology.

He is one of five KSC students who were hired in 2022 to conduct ecological research, assist with stewardship and environmental education activities, and gain specialized training and firsthand experience with many facets of the Harris Center’s work as part of our summer conservation internship partnership with KSC.
