The Ashuelot River Local Advisory Committee (ARLAC) is recruiting volunteers for their 26th season of water quality monitoring! On Tuesday mornings from May through September, volunteers conduct monthly physical and chemical water quality monitoring along the length of the Ashuelot River from Washington to Hinsdale; the data are then used by NH DES, the EPA, and local municipalities.

To volunteer, join ARLAC chair Barbara Skuly for this in-person training, where we’ll review sampling techniques, go over the use of monitoring equipment, and share the 2026 sampling schedule.
