Environmental Studies Institute: Beyond the Basics of Tracking

Stretch your tracking skills beyond winter snow with master tracker and educator Scott Semmens. Learn how to look for animal tracks and sign in sand and mud, and in a variety of habitats. This course will primarily take place in the field. Participants must feel comfortable moving on uneven terrain and through some physically challenging landscapes. Some previous experience with tracking is highly recommended.Tuesdays, April 23 and 30, and May 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Harris Center and local field sites.

Cost: $40 for Harris Center members / $60 all others

Instructor: Scott Semmens taught high school science for 28 years, and now teaches in the Environmental Studies Department at Keene State College. He’s been tracking animals for more than two decades, throughout the U.S. as well as in South Africa, Botswana, and Nepal.
