Bobcats in New Hampshire: The Latest Research

In the late 1970s, the Harris Center chose the bobcat as our mascot — a symbol of the wildness just outside our door, and of the need to protect room to roam for people and wildlife alike. Back then, bobcat numbers were so low that few of these wild felines were ever seen in the Granite State. Forty years later, there are an estimated 1,000 bobcats statewide and sightings are increasingly common in suburban and even urban settings! Join wildlife biologist Rory Carroll for this special presentation on what the UNH research team has learned about how bobcats have come to flourish in our region, and how we can best share the landscape with this charismatic carnivore.
