Conservation Medicine & Winter Seabirds with the Center for Wildlife
Sunday, February 15, 2026,
10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Note: This event was originally planned for February 14, but has been rescheduled to February 15 due to a scheduling conflict.
Join Dan Gardoqui and Phil Brown to learn about wildlife rehabilitation through the lens of conservation medicine at the Center for Wildlife (CFW) in Cape Neddick, Maine. CFW has treated more than 90,000 injured and orphaned wild animals over the past 40 years and provides free medical care to 2,500 patients annually.
In the morning, we’ll take a private, guided tour of the center and meet their animal ambassadors up close. Afterward, we’ll head to the stunning rocky shores of Ogunquit and York — some of Maine’s best winter seabirding hotspots — to look for harlequin ducks, purple sandpipers, eiders, scoters, and more.
This Environmental Studies Institute (ESI) field trip will meet on Sunday, February 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Center for Wildlife in Cape Neddick, Maine. Participants must provide their own food and travel. Space is limited, and registration is required.
Cost: $50 per person. (Fees support wildlife rehabilitation and care for CFW’s ambassador animals.)
For questions about registration, contact Miles Stahmann. For all other information, including questions about accessibility, contact Phil.
