- This event has passed.
The spectacular light produced by glowworms, fireflies, and plankton is known as “bioluminescence” – light made by living creatures. But those familiar glows and flashes are just a tiny fragment of the bioluminescent world. Explore the mysterious realm of living light with this award-winning documentary film, which follows David Attenborough and a team of researchers as they investigate the science of bioluminescence, including several species found right here in New England. Following the film, local mycologist Dave Wichland will give a brief talk to “shed some light” on bioluminescent mushrooms.
7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Putnam Theater at Keene State College. For more information, please contact Brett Amy Thelen at (603) 358-2065 or by email.
Cosponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education, the Monadnock Conservancy, and the KSC Film Society.
