From bird migration to brilliant fall color, this course will reveal the natural history behind autumn’s seasonal changes. We’ll spend most of our time outside in the crisp fall air as we observe how autumn affects bird and mammal behavior, produces New England’s spectacular fall foliage, and brings out a myriad of mushrooms. Teachers include raptor expert Phil Brown, forester Jeremy Wilson, mushroom maven John Benjamin, and mammal enthusiast Susie Spikol Faber.

Dates: This Environmental Studies Institute course meets on Thursdays, September 20 & 27 and October 4 & 11, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Harris Center and local field sites.

Cost: $40 for Harris Center members / $60 for nonmembers
