Join wildlife biologist Mark Ellingwood for a two-week course on American Woodcock and Ruffed Grouse ecology in New Hampshire. Learn about the seasonal behavior, habitat use, and population dynamics of these charismatic birds, and how to identify their sign and sounds in our local woodlands. We’ll also discuss how these species are managed in our state and region.

This class meets on Tuesdays, March 21 & 28, from 9 to 10 a.m. via Zoom.

Cost: $20 for Harris Center supporters / $40 for all others

Instructor: Mark Ellingwood is a Certified Wildlife Biologist with 41 years of professional wildlife experience, including deer research and management in New York and Connecticut. As the former Game Program Supervisor and recently retired Wildlife Division Chief for New Hampshire Fish and Game, Mark has been heavily involved with wildlife research and management in New Hampshire for the past 27 years.
