Following in the Footsteps of John Kulish: King’s Highway to Rye Pond
Saturday, April 29,
9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Join Stan Smith and Vic Starzynski for a moderately strenuous, 3-mile roundtrip hike along the old King’s Highway from Lake Nubanusit to Rye Pond. As we approach Rye Pond, we’ll climb Rollstone Mountain for an elevation gain of 100 feet. The majority of the hike will be on the trail that was King’s Highway, with a short bushwhack up Rollstone. Bring lunch and plenty of water.
Meet at 9 a.m. at the Harris Center to carpool to our starting point. Back by 1 p.m. Space is limited, and registration is required.
For general information about Harris Center field trips, including questions about accessibility, see our Outings Information page. For questions about this particular outing, contact Stan.
