Paddle on the North Branch of the Contoocook
Saturday, August 13, 2022,
7:00 am to 12:00 pm
- This event has passed.
Update on August 11: Unfortunately, water levels on this section of the Contoocook River are too low for the planned paddle. Instead, this outing will be offered at Center Pond in Nelson, meeting at 7 a.m. and wrapping up by 9 a.m.
Join Kathy Schillemat and other nature enthusiasts for a morning paddle down the North Branch of the Contoocook River, leaving from Robb Reservoir in Stoddard. This section of river is surrounded by Harris Center-conserved land, so this should be a good opportunity for seeing wildlife, including herons, waterfowl, turtles, and maybe even moose.
Meet at 7 a.m. at the Robb Reservoir parking area off Keene-Concord Road in Stoddard. Back by noon. Bring your own canoe or kayak, paddles, and a PFD for each person in your boat, as well as plenty of water and a snack or two. Space is limited, and registration is required.
For general information about Harris Center field trips, including questions about accessibility, see our Outings Information page. For questions about this particular outing, please contact Kathy.
