Join shark and ray researcher Julia Saltzman to learn about the wild sharks that grace the New England coastline! Currently working on her PhD at UNH, Julia is a passionate interdisciplinary marine conservation biologist and educator, helping people connect with and understand these fascinating fish.

Presenter: Julia Saltzman (she/her/hers) is a marine conservation biologist whose research focuses on the effects of extreme events on sharks and rays. She graduated from the University of Miami in 2021 with her bachelor’s degree in marine science, biology, and ecosystem science and policy, and is now pursuing her PhD at the University of New Hampshire. She also works with Terranaut Club, where she helps bring girls and underrepresented genders to the forefront of exciting, hands-on, immersive experiences in science and nature.
