South Meadow School: LAB GIRLS+ Afterschool Club
Wednesday, November 4, 2026,
2:15 pm to 4:15 pm

Are you curious about the environment? Do you want to know more about nature and animals? Do you like spending time outside exploring nature? Could you imagine yourself as a marine biologist, a wolf researcher, a wildlife illustrator, an environmental engineer, or even a wildlife veterinarian?
Maybe, you don’t know what career path interests you, but if you join LAB GIRLS+, you might discover that you enjoy natural sciences, technology, engineering, art, or math (STEAM).
LAB GIRLS+ is an afterschool program at South Meadow School helping girls+ develop their interest in STEAM learning, field science skills, and career opportunities. Participants will work with high school students and regional women scientists, exploring, experimenting, and discovering the world of STEAM through a natural science lens.
LAB GIRLS+ staff include naturalists Susie Spikol, and science educator Emily Wrubel.
Open to students in grades 5 through 8 at Great Brook School. Free of charge.
This group meets Wednesdays on October 21, October 28, November 4, November 18 from school dismissal to 4:15 p.m. at Great Brook School. Space is limited, and registration is required. For more information, including questions about accessibility, contact Susie.
