Join Keene State College professor of biology and spider researcher Dr. Karen Cangialosi for an introduction to New England spiders. On Friday night, she’ll present an indoor overview of our local spider species. On Saturday, we’ll dig deeper, with ample field exploration and a look at spiders as model organisms for studying questions of behavioral ecology. This short Environmental Studies Institute course will help you develop a new understanding of, and appreciation for, the valuable role spiders play in our local ecosystems. The Friday evening talk is open to all, but the Saturday session is by registration only.
Dates: Friday, June 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Harris Center and surrounding grounds.
Cost: $40 for Harris Center members / $60 for non-members
Instructor: Dr. Karen Cangialosi is a professor in the Biology Department of Keene State College, where she teaches a wide variety of courses from Ecology to Animal Behavior.
