Mammal Evidence Investigations: A Workshop for Teachers
Friday, December 6, 2024,
9:00 am to 3:00 pm
- This event has passed.

Join Harris Center teacher-naturalists Jenna Spear and Jaime Hutchinson for this fun, energizing professional development workshop for teachers of all grades.
Who uses the gaps in a stone wall for shelter? Which animals prowl through your schoolyard at night? Where can you find evidence of wild mammals right outside your classroom? This workshop will inspire you to step outside and investigate the wild mammals just beyond your school doors. We’ll focus on how the Harris Center lays the groundwork to prepare students for focused, productive outdoor mammal evidence exploration, including mapmaking; simple class management tips for exploring forest, field, or schoolyard landscapes; supporting student-generated inquiry investigations; and recommended resources. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harris Center.
Cost: $120
Space is limited to 20 attendees, and registration is required by November 22. For questions about the event, including accessibility, please contact Jenna Spear.
