The clever, resilient coyote is our native “song dog” and a top predator in the Northeast. While Western coyotes evolved on the Great Plains, the Eastern coyote has been shaped by red wolves, gray wolves, and domestic dogs, as well as its wily Western cousins. Can we learn to live with this more wolf-like coyote? Join biologist Chris Schadler for a talk gleaned from her 30 years of experience with wolf and coyote research, sheep farming, and teaching – including specific strategies for coexisting with coyotes.

Whether you’re a farmer, gardener, hiker, or just someone who wants to learn more about our wild neighbors, this one is for you! 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Harris Center. For more information, please contact Brett Amy Thelen at (603) 358-2065 or by email.

Cosponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Hancock Town Library.
