Join Dave Butler and Ben Haubrich for a moderately strenuous, 4-mile hike on the rolling terrain of Crotched Mountain. The southeast side of the mountain is a glacier-carved bowl with a network of trails that are excellent for winter recreation. Snowshoers and skiers are welcome.

Bring snowshoes, skis, or ice traction, and meet at 1 p.m. at the Farrington Road parking area for the Crotched Mountain Town Forest on Route 136 in Francestown, a half-mile from the Greenfield town line. Back by 4 p.m.

Space is limited, and registration is required. To register, please fill out this online form. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular event, please contact Dave or Ben. To borrow snowshoes or ice traction in advance, please contact Miles Stahmann.

Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Piscataquog Land Conservancy.
