Ed met his future wife while in college in Providence, RI and was introduced to the Monadnock Region when visiting her family, who had been in the area since the 1930’s.

After his forty-year career in educational publishing and his wife’s long nursing career, they retired in 2019 to live on Whippoorwill Farm in Marlborough, a ~400 acre working farm under conservation easement with the Monadnock Conservancy.

Ed began his publishing career after graduating from Brown University, working with both large and small learning businesses and across multiple media formats. In a time when the book had not materially changed in centuries, the teams he led were pioneers in developing early e-books, homework and tutoring systems, custom publishing solutions, and web services.

Ed admires the Harris Center’s “conservation by education” mission and welcomes the opportunity to add his support and experience to its cause.
