Steven Lamonde smiles while standing in front of a tree with binoculars around his neck.Steven (he/him) grew up along the South Shore of Massachusetts, where he developed a deep curiosity for all things wild. After receiving a BS from Johnson State College in Environmental Science, Steven moved to the Monadnock Region to pursue an MS in Conservation Biology at Antioch University New England. Here, his passion for birds and community science intensified, leading to active participation in regional and national bird conservation projects.

Steven now works as an ecologist and project manager for Moosewood Ecological. He also teaches part-time as an affiliate professor at Antioch University, which includes teaching GIS courses and managing the Antioch Spatial Analysis Lab. In addition, Steven is a regular guest lecturer on bird-related courses through the Keene State College CALL program.

Never without binoculars or a camera close at hand, Steven enjoys taking any opportunity to document New England’s biodiversity. He also volunteers as a cartographer with NH Audubon. Besides birding, he enjoys road trips, sports of any kind, and BioBlitzes.
