She is also a member of the KSC softball team and the treasurer of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She is from Lee, New Hampshire, and enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, and hiking with friends and family.

Carissa has many different passions related to sustainability, including water and air quality, energy efficiency, waste management, and corporate social responsibility. After college, she hopes to travel abroad before entering the sustainability field to help companies and communities in the fight against climate change.

She is one of four KSC students who were hired in 2024 to conduct ecological research, assist with stewardship and environmental education activities, and gain specialized training and firsthand experience with many facets of the Harris Center’s work as part of our summer conservation internship partnership with KSC. She is particularly excited for the opportunity to learn new research skills in the fields of conservation and environmental science.
