Writing the Land: Channels

Channels book cover

Celebrating Protected Lands

This anthology features poetry from New Hampshire’s 2013-2019 poet laureate Alice B. Fogel, inspired by her time on our protected Hiroshi Land, and from Henry Walters, borne out of his experience observing saw-whet owl banding on our protected Kulish Ledges property.

Writing the Land: Channels also features poetry celebrating lands protected by nine additional North American land trusts.

Editor Lis McLoughlin says, “Writing the Land is an attempt to honor nature and our relationship with it in a way that is as equitable and transparent as it is deep and entangled. We intend to be as inclusive—to humans and places — as we hope the mantle of protection that land trusts offer can be. Our work will never be complete but gains strength, depth, beauty, and energy in a multitude of voices.”
